BloodChild

Ok, so I was intrigued with this story. It started off a little normal but I felt it was weird that they had these psychedelic, addicting type of eggs that they would slurp themselves into another dimension practically. Honestly, I kind of wanted to try one. Maybe I am just hungry. But the story got weirder, the characters turned out to be very alien and creature-like. The family seemed to be very basic and normal but T'Gatoi really creeped me out with all her limbs and spikes. She seemed sinister in her own way, she was manipulating and controlling, even though she was caring for the family. I never trusted her. She was around the family because she was entitled to a child, even though she wasnt part of the family by blood, she acted as a second mom which was very unsettling. They kept these human-like creatures locked up in preserves while T'Gatoi's race ruled everywhere. That was also unsettling due to the fact that I felt inferior to that aspect of the story. I felt like an animal stuck at a zoo. The scenario in general, the world they lived in, was very strange. But then it got even weirder when they had to cut up another being and remove all these worms from its flesh, inevitably killing the person at the end because they couldnt be saved. It reminded me of when my friend showed me videos of animals having bot-flies living beneath their skin and having to excrete them through pinching their skin. It was a very gross image but this story made me relive those memories. I wasn't too fond of this story either. It flowed and it was intriguing and weird but I didnt connect with it very much. I didnt connect with it on a deeper level. Sometimes I felt annoyed cause it there was a lot of panic and arguing but thats all I can really say. Thats my opinion on this story.
